Due to the success of the 2008 movie The Strangers, it made over six times the amount of the movies budget, there was always going to be talk of The Strangers 2 being made. Plans for The Strangers 2 have been lingering in development for quite some time now, but it does appear that it could still happen.
Hollywood actress Liv Tyler, who starred in The Strangers as Kristen McKay, has revealed that the screenplay for The Strangers 2 has been written by the first instalments director Bryan Bertino. However Bryan will not be returning to direct the project.
Instead, Laurent Briet has been brought in to helm The Strangers 2 and, although it is only a small part, Liv Tyler will be returning to reprise her role as Kristen McKay. It is not yet known when The Strangers 2 is likely to be released but if it is half as effective as the original, we are all in for a treat.
