The Vampire Diaries exec Julie Plec has revealed how season four of the hit The CW vampire series will be affected by Elena and her transformation into a vampire. Julie has claimed that, while the love triangle was becoming a bit flat, these new events will refresh it.
Plec explained to TV Guide, “Without a doubt the triangle has been refreshed and reset with the actions of Elena (Nina Dobrev) going over that bridge and becoming a vampire.”
She added, “I like to use the analogy of being sober, but your girlfriend just turned 21 and wants to party. For Stefan (Paul Wesley), Elena usually supports him and is now the one needing to be supported, so who's going to keep Stefan from falling over the edge?”
Julie continued, "I do think there is some element of concern on the part of her closest friends to make sure she's not losing her way or losing sight of herself in all this - especially how it relates to the Salvatore brothers.”
Tonight is the night people. The Vampire Diaries Season Four is set to premiere in the US tonight at 8/7c on The CW before then heading across the pond to premiere in the UK on ITV2 later this year. Unfortunately a specific date has yet to be confirmed.
