It was claimed recently that hit Zombie series The Walking Dead would be taken on for a fourth season. While it has yet to be officially confirmed by AMC, it does appear that there are already plans in place for, not only season four, but also season five.

The Walking Dead executive producer Glen Mazzara has admitted that, while he does have plans that stretch as far as a fifth season, he does not want to get too far ahead of himself and knows that the show could be dropped in an instant.
Mazzara told Assignment X, “As far as story goes, we certainly have concepts of bringing us into season four, and I even have concepts I haven't shared with anybody about season five. I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but I think about this stuff constantly.”

However he does also have an idea of how The Walking Dead will finally end, “A lot of that [plan] is thematic and conceptual. I come up with emotional feeling I want people to take away each season and probably the series. I have that in mind,” continued Glen.
The Walking Dead continues to air in the UK on FX and in the US on AMC.
