It has been reported that The X Factor is planning to introduce a new twist for the new season, in a bid to boost the shows ratings. It has been claimed that there will now be a new "Recommend a Friend" section, where people can apply for their friends, without them actually knowing about it.

A show insider explained, "It’s a new twist to freshen up the show. We are asking friends to nominate their pals who they believe are good enough to take part in the show but for some reason have never applied. It’s a fun new way to spring surprises and find singers."
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for The X Factor also spoke to the Daily Star and confirmed that there will be a new twist on the show next season and seemed to confirm what the insider had already suggested. The spokesperson added, "It’s a new way of finding undiscovered talent."
Last seasons judges
There is still plenty of work for Simon Cowell and the team to do before The X Factor returns, as it is still unclear which of the judges from last season will be returning this year. One person who looks set to leave the show is Tulisa Contostavlos, with a number of people being linked to her seat on the judging panel.
