The X Factor runner up Marcus Collins has revealed how he has always written songs for as long as he can remember and has previously penned a song for The X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos. Marcus wrote the song for Tulisa before he had even auditioned for the show but unfortunately for him, the song was never released.

Collins explained, "I have always written songs. I wrote a song for Tulisa, which she recorded before she knew me, before I auditioned for the show or anything. It was called 'Breakaway' but it ended up not coming out because she got the X Factor job. I think it was going to be her first solo single. She was making a roast dinner for all the groups in the X Factor house and we got talking, then I started singing the song.”
He added, "She was looking at me like, really confused, and asked how I knew that song. I said, 'Because I wrote it, love - it's one of mine'. We had a laugh about it. I suppose it still could happen. She is in LA right now recording more songs then she's going to Miami to shoot a video so it is all taking off for her. But I think the songwriters she is working with now are getting a little bit bigger and better than me, she is moving up." Marcus Collins is set to release his debut single Seven Nation Army, in the UK on March 4.
