The Grand Budapest Hotel actress Tilda Swinton has enjoyed a long and successful acting career in Hollywood, even managing to bag herself an Oscar along the way, picking up the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her role in the 2007 movie Michael Clayton. So it is rather surprising then that Tilda has admitted that she still does not feel like an actress and is not completely sure how to go about being one.
Swinton spoke to Variety telling them, "I don't know what it would take for me to feel like one [actress]. I understand it's a strange thing to say because I do keep saying, 'Yes, I'll dress up and be in your film.' But when I hear proper actors talking about their lives and how they approach their work, I feel like I'm up another tree."
Tilda gave her views on how she approaches her characters, adding, "When people ask about how I approach a character - well, I wouldn't know how to approach a character if I tried. People will ask about choosing a role - I don't choose roles. People will talk to me about preparation. Aside from putting together a disguise, I'm not aware of any preparation at all."
There is no denying that Tilda Swinton is a very talented actress and has put in some fantastic performances along the way. She might not feel that she knows what she is doing but we certainly feel that she is doing great things and always look forward to seeing new films with Tilda involved.
The next movie that we will see Tilda Swinton in is Trainwreck which boasts an all-star cast including Brie Larson, Barkhad Abdi, Ezra Miller, Amy Schumer, Bill Hader and John Cena. Trainwreck is currently in pre-production but has a release date planned for July 24, 2015 in the US and August 28, 2015 in the UK.
