ENews is reporting that, according to the court records that they have managed to obtain, TomKat's divorce is official. Obviously, both parties made sure that this was done quickly and smoothly, and that nothing was dragged out for the sake of their daughter, Suri.
Just a little over a month ago, Katie Holmes announced that she was divorcing Tom Cruise, creating a maelstorm of shock and media interest (not that there was a lack of it before) in their lives. Many reports were leaking left, right, and center from all the media outlets, some saying Holmes was filing for sole custody, some saying Cruise was retaliating by doing the same, reports that there was a fight over where the divorce would take place, but it ultimately ended with both parents negotiating everything smoothly. Perhaps they realized that fighting it out in public wouldn't be the best option for either of their images, nor the future of their daughter (Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry should take notes).
They were married almost 5 and a half years, after tying the knot in Italy in November of 2006.
