British actor Tom Felton became a global superstar and a household name around the world, thanks to his portrayal of the character Draco Malfoy in the hit Harry Potter movies. Those movies were based on the books written by JK Rowling, who has now decided to turn her hand to writing screenplays, with her very first in the process of being written.
JK Rowling is writing the screenplay for the movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is a spin-off from the Harry Potter films. While Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will not focus on the characters from Harry Potter, Tom Felton has admitted that he would love to get a role in the movie, if at all possible.
Felton was chatting to the guys over at SnitchSeeker, when he told them, "Of course, if my services were ever asked for how could I possibly turn it down? But it’s not something that I think is likely, and I feel very proud of the work we’ve done. I dare wouldn’t want to taint it by sticking my name in the pot too early for that."
While it would be lovely to see some of the familiar faces from the Harry Potter movie franchise making a small cameo appearance in the movie, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set before most of them were even born, so it does seem unlikely that we will see Tom Felton reprising his role as Draco Malfoy for the film.
