It has been reported that The Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy is in talks to play the lead role in the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder movie Samarkand, which is set to be directed by Greg Williams.
Samarkand centres around and SAS soldier (Hardy), who returns from the war and begins to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This leads to the man having great difficulty in managing to fit back into society, as he struggles with the memories of the battle field.
We have had a number of movies based on soldiers coming back from the war and suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder but none of them have done the condition justice. Most of these films just use the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder line, as a way to give their views on war, rather than focussing on the actual condition.
Tom Hardy is currently a very busy actor, with a whole, host of movies in the pipeline. We will next see Tom on the big screen, starring alongside Nicholas Hoult, Charlize Theron and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, in Mad Max: Fury Road, which is due to be released sometime next year.
