There are a lot of British stars in Hollywood these days, with some of these British stars landing some of the biggest movie roles going. One such British star, who has become a global superstar and a household name around the world, is the actor Tom Hiddleston, who is considered one of the most sought after stars in the industry.
While Tom has been in the acting game for many years now, it is fair to say that his big Hollywood breakthrough came in the role of Loki in the Marvel movie Thor. Tom has now spoken about Loki, claiming that he and director Kenneth Branagh based the character on Shakespearean characters, even going as far as to credit Kenneth for his successful career.
Hiddleston explained, "We made Loki out of Shakespearean characters. We talked about King Lear with its two brothers, Macbeth with his ambition, the way Iago spins every situation for self-interest. In every possible way, Kenneth Branagh has been my inspiration; there is no way that I would be where I am now without him."
Tom Hiddleston has played the role of Loki on three separate occasions, the first being Thor, the second being The Avengers and the third being Thor: The Dark World. While there has been no official word of whether or not we will see Tom playing Loki on the big screen again, it does seem unlikely for the time being.
