The Avengers actor Tom Hiddleston has signed up to star alongside Gemma Arterton in the Capa. There are currently two movies being made about Robert Capa, with Michael Bay directing Waiting For Robert Capa, but Tom will star in the Paul Andrew Williams directed Capa. Tom has stated that he intends to do thorough research before shooting begins on the film.
Hiddleston explained to Shortlist, "I plan to go to the places he lived, those places he visited, read books about him, study his photographs and, crucially, learn how he took them. I look at [Capa’s] life and see it in heroic terms.
He added, "A Hungarian kicked out of Hungary for writing against Fascism, he moved to Germany where he was kicked out for being Jewish, then he moved to France and from there began a life-long commitment to make a stand against forces of fascism."
There are currently no real plot details known about Capa but there has been some suggestion that the film could be set to centre around the war photographer and his romance with Gerda Taro. With details about Capa being very scarce, it is not yet known when production will begin or when the movie will be released.
