Tom Hiddleston has become world renowned as the Marvel villain Loki, thanks to his portrayal of the character in Thor and The Avengers. Tom is set to play Loki for a third time in the Marvel movie Thor: The Dark World but it appears that Tom had a greater ambition for the movie.
Hiddleston has been talking to Empire Magazine, where he revealed that he had actually approached Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige about the possibility of directing Thor: The Dark World. Unfortunately for Tom, he did not get to helm the movie but he insists that he wants to direct in the future.
Hiddleston said, “Yes, I do. I did ask, half-jokingly, Kevin Feige about directing Thor 2 and he said, 'Do you have something to show me?' I said no. He said, 'If you made something and showed me, I might consider it.' But it's better for the world that he said no. It would be such a responsibility, but I think I'd enjoy it.”
Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Zachary Levi as Fandral, Ray Stevenson as Volstagg, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Christopher Eccleston as Malekith. Thor: The Dark World will be released on October 20, 2013 in the UK and November 8, 2013 in the US.
