The countdown continues and today we bring you number six on the Top 10 recast movie roles list and it is another interesting change. Yesterday we brought you Viggo Mortensen replacing Stuart Townsend in the Lord of the Rings trilogy and now we have a role in the prequel which changed hands.

Rob Kazinsky was due to be in The Hobbit
English actor Rob Kazinsky is enjoying a rise to stardom in the US, especially with his new role in the hit HBO vampire television series True Blood. Yet it seems that Rob almost had a role in one of the biggest grossing movies ever, when he was close to playing the dwarf Fili in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit.
Rob Kazinsky met up with the other cast members and members of the crew for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, before deciding to pull out of the role due to personal reasons, much to the disappointment of Peter Jackson, who said at the time, "Rob has been terrific to work with, and his enthusiasm and infectious sense of humour will be missed by all of us."

Dean O'Gorman in The Hobbit
Peter Jackson then had to move quickly to recast the role and Dean O'Gorman joined the cast of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey in the role of Fili. Dean can be seen in the role of Fili in the remaining two The Hobbit movies, with The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug coming this year and The Hobbit: There and Back Again coming in 2014.
