So far in our Top 10 Movies that never got made, we have had some really interesting films, such as Morgan Freeman in Eight. Now we give you number five on the list, which was the planned sequel to the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Back in 1988, Who Framed Roger Rabbit became a huge hit, making a massive $349m, which led to instant talk of a sequel being made. Director Robert Zemeckis seemed keen, as did actor Bob Hoskins and even Steven Spielberg was interested for a while.
Steven oversaw Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and was set to take on the same role for Who Discovered Roger Rabbit? The movie would follow the young years of Roger Rabbit, as he became a cartoon hero, romanced Jessica Rabbit and featured in the second World War.
Unfortunately though, things did not go to plan and Steven Spielberg decided to pull out of the project, as he headed to make the much more serious Schindler's List. This led to the downfall of the project and now, 23 years later, we are still waiting for the sequel that is unlikely to ever happen.
