Our top 10 list of video games that are in talks to become movies is almost at an end, as we have come to the top three films on the list. We have seen some very exciting prospects over the past few days, including yesterday's film Angry Birds, which was number four on the list, meaning today brings us to number three.
As many of you will be well aware by now, the wheels are very much in motion for a big screen adaptation of the hit video game series Assassin's Creed. There have been talks about an Assassin's Creed movie happening for a few years now but it finally seems to actually be happening.
Casting for Assassin's Creed has already started, with X-Men: Days of Future Past actor Michael Fassbender signed on to play the lead role, as well as co-produce the movie. It is not yet known which character Michael will play, as there are certainly a few to choose from.
It will be interesting to see if they go old school and give us Altair ibn-La’Ahad or Ezio Auditore de Firenze, or if they go for the newer character such as Ratonhnhaké:ton or Edward Kenway, although it is rumoured that he will play Desmond Miles. The Assassin's Creed screenplay is being written by Michael Leslie, with a release date planned for June 19, 2015.
