Over the past few years we have been seeing a lot of brand new original television series coming to places that do not usually bring us original shows. One channel that has worked hard at giving us some very interesting and impressive original series in recent years is The History Channel, with their show Vikings proving quite the hit.
Actor Travis Fimmel plays the lead role of Ragnar Lothbrok in Vikings and he has been talking about the show, which is now in its second season on The History Channel. Travis has revealed just what it was that drew him to the project and how he went about landing the role.
Fimmel told TIME, "There’d been no show about Vikings that had been done really well, and Michael Hirst is mainly what attracted me to it, and I put myself on tape and sent it over there, and they were dumb enough to hire me."
Travis then went on to talk about reading the scripts for Vikings, admitting that he prefers to be kept in the dark about what happens, "You know, I prefer to stay in the dark and see what happens. Michael’s the captain of the ship and he’s a brilliant man, so I look forward to reading the scripts," added Fimmel.
Vikings has made a very big impression on The History Channel and, while the Vikings season two finale recently aired, it has already been confirmed that Vikings has been renewed for a third season on The History Channel which will premiere in 2015.
