Rapper Trey Songz has taken his first steps away from the music scene and into the world of acting, appearing in the box office hit movie Texas Chainsaw 3D. While many were questioning the move before the release of the film, it has proved a rather wise move.
Trey has been receiving a fair amount of praise for his performance in Texas Chainsaw 3D and the movie itself shot to the top of the US box office. However, Trey almost missed out on being a part of the film, as producers did not even know who he was.
Songz was talking to the Los Angeles Times, when he explained, “People at Lionsgate were uncertain, saying, 'We've never heard of him. We don't know who he is'... (Then a studio executive Googled him and) goes 'Oh my God, cast him right now.”
As well as Trey Songz, whose real name is Tremaine Neverson, Texas Chainsaw 3D also stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Dan Yeager and Scott Eastwood. Texas Chainsaw 3D is out now in both the US and the UK and you can check out the trailer for the movie below.
