The creator of True Blood, Alan Ball has revealed that they filmed a scene for the fourth series in 3D to get an idea of how it might look. He admitted that the scene is unlikely to air but also stated that the vampire mystery series could become 3D in the future.
Ball said, "We did a scene in 3D this season just to take a look at it, HBO asked us to do one. It was pretty cool. I don't think it's going to air." Alan, who wrote the hit movie American Beauty, also added "We just did it as an experiment, because I don't know if they're going to want to take the show 3D at some point, maybe like a season premiere or a season finale or something."
Ball then went on to explain "I would be surprised if - depending on how long the show lasts - that doesn't happen at some point, especially if 3D technology gets beyond having to wear the glasses." The fourth series of True Blood returns to HBO at 9pm on June 26. A preview for the new series has recently been released.
