True Blood actor Stephen Moyer recently gave an interview discussing [via Examiner] discussing the role of vampires in pop culture. He said, “A vampire also treats you with old-fashioned manners, while at any point he could overwhelm you and rip your life away. There's something very sexually exciting about that. Look at '50 Shades of Grey.”

He also adds, "It's about romance and power and fantasy. Vampires have a sort of brooding presence that goes back to Gothic literature. There's often a dark, enigmatic man involved, such as Mr. Rochester or Heathcliff.”
Moyer’s True Blood co-star Alexander Skarsgard is said to be one of the frontrunners for the role of Christian Grey in the upcoming ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ adaptation, so it will be interesting to see if Moyer is rooting for his friend to take the top spot in the heated competition for the role.
Other actors who have been up for the role of Christian Grey are said to Ian Somerhalder and Matt Bomer. However, fan support for Alexander Skarsgard has been overwhelmingly positive, and it seems that if he indeed end up getting the role, no one would have any complaints. Now, the only question is – who will be his Anastasia?
