True Blood actor Stephen Moyer has revealed how he really enjoys it when his character Bill, in the hit HBO vampire series, gets to say some funny lines. Stephen admits that many of the other characters in True Blood actually get to have some witty lines but his character is much more serious, so the funny lines are few and far between.
Moyer explained, “My character isn’t one of the ones who gets many of those lines because he’s more melancholic and introverted. But, I was very pleased in Episode 5, where Pam [Ravenscroft, a fictional vampire] comes on with a huge hat because she’s covering her screwed-up face, and Bill says, ‘Oh, good, the world needs more beekeepers.’”
He added, “When you get those lines, you’re like, ‘Yes!’ We all get them, and we all look forward to hearing the other people read them in the table read.” You can catch Stephen Moyer reprising his role as Bill Compton, alongside his wife Anna Paquin who plays Sookie Stackhouse and Alexander Skarsgard who plays Eric Northman in the show, when True Blood season five premieres on HBO on June 24.
