True Blood’s outbound showrunner Alan Ball has been discussing how the sixth season of the hit HBO vampire television series will clear up a lot of unanswered questions left by season five. Alan also gave his take on why he thinks Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) chose to become a vampire.
Ball explained, “In a way, I’ve always thought that when Godric presented Eric with the chance of becoming a vampire, somewhere in the back of Eric’s mind he was thinking, ‘OK. Maybe I’ll be able to get that guy who killed my family.’” Alan also discussed how the dynamics have changed in the relationship between Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer).

He added, “I think that last moment, when Bill drinks the blood, is a gigantic challenge for Sookie because for all intents and purposes, she sees him die, and then be reborn as something alien and terrifying. There are things that we planted that are going to mean a lot next year.”
True Blood season six is set to premiere on HBO in June. It has recently been reported that the sixth season of True Blood will have a shorter run than its usual 12 episodes due to the pregnancy of Anna Paquin. True Blood season five is set to air in the UK on FX on September 17 at 10pm.
