The producers of hit comedy Two and a Half Men had decided not to submit the show for consideration of an Emmy. The show was expected to be in the running for the category ‘Outstanding Comedy Series’ but the producers decided against competing for the Emmy.
The reports were confirmed yesterday by Warner Bros. Television but no reason for the withdrawal has yet been given. It is, however, believed that the main reason behind the decision is due to the ongoing Charlie Sheen controversy that resulted in the actor being axed.
Reports do suggest that although they will not be submitting the show for an Emmy, they will still be putting forward Jon Cryer
, Angus T. Jones
, Holland Taylor
and Conchata Ferrell
in their respective categories. Ashton Kutcher has been brought in
to replace the fired Charlie Sheen
but it is thought that he has only signed a one year deal.
