R&B superstar Usher has revealed how he constantly aims to achieve the high standards set by the legends of music past. Talking in a teleconference for his OMG tour, the ‘Here I Stand’ singer said "I stand on the shoulders of the giants before me, great entertainers who really paved the way.”
He went on to say how he thrives on the pressure that comes with taking on the challenge of emulating these music greats, "You know, we lost Michael Jackson. A lot of pressure is on me, and I don't mind taking it” he said.
He did however admit that he was not the only artist keeping the heart of music alive and spoke of his respect for his fellow entertainers. “And for all of the entertainers who are still living and keeping it live, I show support and I salute them through what I do. We pay tribute in the way we sing a lot of times and the way we dance” said Usher. Usher performs tonight in Pittsburgh for the first time in seven years.
