R&B singer Usher recently performed at Rodeo Houston for Black Heritage Night and he set attendance records as he entertained over 75,000 guests. Usher put on a show that people will be talking about for a very long time as he provided a high energy performance that incorporated the dance moves of Michael Jackson and James Brown while he went through several of his chart-topping hits.
Sometimes when people watch an entertainer such as Usher become a judge on a reality television show we forget that those individuals are still performers and the judging is their side job. Usher showed the crowd at RodeoHouston that he is first and foremost, an entertainer and he is the consummate professional who knows how to make a concert a spectacular event.
Usher wore all black except for a pair white high tops and he consistently raised his shirt to reveal his washboard abdominal muscles. His performance was the equivalent of many award-show performances as not a musical note was missed nor were there any mistakes on the vocals or the incredibly synchronized dance steps. Usher showed why he is considered one of the best music performers in the industry because even when a mishap occurred, which in this case consisted of his gold microphone cutting out in mid-performance he did not throw a fit or let it bother him. He started talking with the crowd about how he loved his time in Houston while his team provided him with new microphones and then they returned to performing precisely where they left off.
The great musical performers can go almost anywhere and by the end of the night have their audience appreciating their performance and Usher accomplished this feat and it is why Usher is considered one of the best live r&b acts in the United States and concert worth attending whenever possible.
