It has been nine years since piano playing Vanessa Carlton had her one and only worldwide hit ‘A Thousand Miles’ and the singer has also released three albums. However, she has since admitted that she had “pretty severe writer’s block” but things have now changed. Vanessa is due to release her fourth album ‘Rabbits on the Run’ on July 26.
Carlton explained, “A very important change occurred in terms of my approach to making music, which led to a lot of other changes as well. And I think it came out of not being productive anymore, and feeling dishonest with my own approach and my own work. I was feeling like there was something inauthentic about it, and I was losing touch with what I needed to be doing. So I just sat for a couple of years and started listening, paying attention again.”
‘Rabbits on the Run’ is being tipped to be one of the albums of the year and has been massively built up by fellow musician, and close friend, K.T. Tunstall. ‘Rabbits on the Run’ was recorded with English producer Steve Osborne in Real World Studios near Bath. It’s been a long wait since a Vanessa Carlton hit but it seems that the wait could soon be over.
