It is fair to say that the acting career of Vanessa Hudgens took a bit of a break for a short while, with the actress clearly looking to only take on the projects that she thought were right for her, rather than just making a quick buck from any rubbish that was sent her way. That looks like it was a good idea by Vanessa as she is now reaping the rewards of landing some very exciting acting work.

Vanessa Hudgens will play Rizzo
As well as appearing on broadway, in the lead role of Gigi, it has now been reported that Vanessa Hudgens is set to star in the live Grease musical that is being worked on for Fox. The re-imagining of Grease will see Vanessa Hudgens taking on the role of Rizzo, while the lead role of Sandy will be played by Footloose actress Julianne Hough, adding to the exciting casting line-up.
While we are already excited about this new Grease project, with Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough taking on two of the most popular characters, it has not yet been announced which actor will take on the role of Danny Zuko. It is claimed that Fox have found it difficult to cast some of the bigger characters, which has led to them having to push it back from its planned Summer 2015 date, with Grease now scheduled to air on Fox on January 31, 2016.

Julianne Hough will play Sandy
Julianne Hough said of her involvement in the project, "Grease is one of the movies that made me want to be an entertainer, and I have literally been waiting my whole life to play Sandy. My siblings and I watched it and played it out over and over when we were kids. This is my dream role and performing it live on television will be one of the most thrilling opportunities I've had in my career so far."
We look forward to hearing more casting news for Grease in the coming weeks and months and cannot wait for the project to come together.
