Vanessa Paradis has finally broken her silence on the subject of her split from long-term partner Johnny Depp, declaring that she is happy with life at the moment.
Speaking to the French edition of Elle magazine, the singer-turned-model and actress said: "I don't have the recipe for happiness, but I think the engine is simply having the desire.
"It's not feeling obliged or forced or repeating yourself. I hate, for example, whenever you hear someone say, 'You have to work at being a couple'. No, you have to want to be there.
"And for me, I want to be right where I am right now."
Vanessa, 39, and Johnny, 49, announced their break-up in June, amid rumours that Johnny has started dating his Rum Diaries co-star Amber Heard. Amber - who is bisexual - ended her relationship with her girlfriend around the same time.
