Things have been going extremely well in the acting career of Hollywood star Vin Diesel of late, with a number of hit projects coming his way over the course of the last few years. Not only are we going to get to have Vin Diesel giving us the voice of Groot in the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy but it also looks like he could be reprising one of his most famous roles.
Vin Diesel has enjoyed huge success with the Riddick franchise, with the most recent Riddick film proving to be a huge success in terms of DVD sales. This looks to have persuaded Universal to give the go ahead on another Riddick movie, with Vin taking to his official Facebook page to tell his fans of the good news and how grateful he is for their support.
Diesel wrote, "I’m just excited, and happy, and I’m shouting out to you guys to say thank you. Universal just called me and told me that Riddick is number one on the DVD charts. There’s no way in the world Riddick would have been made without you guys, you know that. You guys have been a part of our page since 2012 and remember how arduous a road it was to get the movie made, and to make it rated R, and to do it with such a low budget. It’s a win for all of us and I really, really, really, really thank you so much. Yeah, I’m excited, and of course, Universal’s also saying they want to develop the next one."
As well as returning to the screen with a possible Riddick sequel, we will also see Vin Diesel reprising his role as Dominic Toretto in Fast and the Furious 7, which opens on April 10, 2015. Meanwhile, there have also been a number of rumours that he could return as Xander Cage in a xXx sequel, while he is expected to appear in numerous Marvel movies over the years. Not a bad time to have the career of Vin Diesel.
