Vincent Regan began his acting career by attending The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, after his initial education at St. Josephs College in Ipswich, Suffolk. He is best known for his appearances in swashbuckling Greek films such as Troy, playing opposite Brad Pitt, Clash of the Titans which grossed 493 million dollars, and the film 300 which is the story of King Leonidis leading 300 Spartans into battle with the Persians. He has also appeared fifteen times at the Edinburgh Festival, playing Achilles in Troilus and Cressida, with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Lately Regan has appeared in the films, Hard Men, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Lockout, and Snow White & the Huntsman as well as his many television appearances. For his part in the BBC's Eureka Street he was nominated for Best Leading Performance by the Irish Film and Television Academy. He has appeared in 'Spooks,' 'Inspector George Gently,' 'Lewis,' and this year he was in Series 10 of New Tricks, in the Gibraltar episodes 1 and 2.
Vincent has written for the screen as well as forming his own film company. Sean Bean and Tilda Swinton will appear in his film,' Come Like Shadows,' an interpretation of Shakespeare's 'Macbeth.'
In 2012, Regan began the long task of launching a theatre company in Beverley, Yorkshire. Dame Judi Dench will be the patron of his East Riding Theatre, a not-for-profit company. He is quoted a saying that the Bafta-winning actress Anna Maxwell Martin is among the stars he hopes will appear. The theatre will be staging at least three productions every year but, initially, it will operate as a theatre for touring productions. Now, in 2013 his dream has come true. On August 15th he opened with his first stage production, which is just a taste of things to come, as his theatre opens permanently later this year. Before opening night the tickets were sold out, so the future looks good.
