The fact that the 2008 movie Wanted was such a success meant that there was bound to be talk of a sequel and sure enough, there was. Then came the confirmation that writers Michael Brandt and Derek Haas were working on a script for the Wanted sequel.
Now it appears that the first draft of the script for Wanted 2 has been completed and now Brandt and Haas are working on the second draft. Derek has now confirmed that he and Michael are so in love with the whole story surround that world that they could not wait to get it finished.
Haas explained, “Yeah, we’re currently writing the second draft of it. Basically, when the first movie came out, we were supposed to write the sequel. And then, for various reasons, we couldn’t do it and they went on to other writers.
He added, “Then, four years later, they came back and said, ‘We’re interested in having you guys do it again.’ It was a world that we just loved, so we bent over backwards to make it work and we’re really excited about it.”
While Wanted 2 is still some time away from starting production one thing is for sure, Angelina Jolie will not be involved in the project after already rejecting an offer to return. As for James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman, we will just have to wait and see.
