Warwick Davis is set to star in a new TV series, titled Life’s Too Short and has admitted that he is delighted with the prospect of starring in the show. Life’s Too Short is written by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant , who created The Office, and is set to run for six episodes.
Warwick Davis, who starred in Willow, is set to play a character based on himself. He explained, "It's a unique experience. I have been a long-term fan of both (Ricky and Stephen) since I watched them in The Office, and was honoured to be asked to appear on Extras." He then added, "We have had great interest from actors and the press alike, and I can reveal that Johnny Depp is due to appear, but that's all you're getting!"
Warwick then continued, "Firstly, [it's supposed to be] entertainment," he insisted. "I'd be pretty worried if it can't even provide that! Apart from that, maybe [it provides] a slight insight into the life of a little person, who's also an actor." Before concluding, "The character is nothing like me, but he is me. if you understand what I mean? Foremost though, [the show is] there to get laughs."
Life’s Too Short is set to be shown in the UK on BBC Two. It is expected that the show will also be shown in the US, with HBO as the likely network.
