It has been reported that Fabio Capello has told Manchester United and England striker Wayne Rooney that he will be taking him to Euro 2012 as part of his England squad, despite his three match ban. However, Fabio has also told Wayne that he will have to sit out the forthcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden.
Neither piece of news will come as much of a surprise to most. Yes Wayne Rooney will miss all three of the group matches with his ban but what better player to have waiting to come in to the competition, fresh for the latter stages. As for leaving him out for the friendlies, that just makes sense, as Fabio searches for Wayne’s replacement for the group games.
Fabio Capello took the time to travel to Manchester United’s, Carrington training ground to give Wayne Rooney the news in person. There has been a mixed response from England fans, with many claiming it is a waste of a place in the squad. Do you think Fabio Capello should take Wayne Rooney to Euro 2012.
