Weekend English Premier League Predictions 01/10/11

Last week we managed to get 8 out of 10 results correct while also getting 3 scorelines spot on so lets see how we fare this week.

Everton v Liverpool: The Merseyside derby is always an exciting and fierce rivalry with a great atmosphere and wonderful football. Steven Gerrard is expected to come off the bench for Liverpool while Glen Johnson could also feature. Everton are without Victor Anichebe but Tim Cahill is expected to start. Liverpool should edge this one.

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Liverpool

Aston Villa v Wigan: Darren Bent and Emile Heskey return to the Aston Villa squad to give more attacking options for them. Jermaine Jenas is still not fully fit but could make the bench. Hugo Rodallega and Antolin Alcaraz are still injured for Wigan. Unbeaten Villa could stop their draw hoodoo and actually nick a win.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2-1 Wigan

Blackburn v Manchester City: Martin Olsson is suspended for Blackburn while Scott Dann and Michel Salgado are still out injured. Carlos Tevez has been suspended by the club following his refusal to come on in the week. Edin Dzeko will partner Sergio Aguero up front. Should be another City show with a big win.

Prediction: Blackburn 1-4 Man City

Manchester United v Norwich: Manchester United are still without Chris Smalling, Tom Cleverly and Nemanja Vidic but Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney and Johnny Evans should make their returns. Zak Whitbread, Elliott Ward and Dani Ayala are unavailable for Norwich while Ritchie de Laet cannot play against his parent club. Expect it to be a walk in the park for United.

Prediction: Man Utd 3-0 Norwich

Sunderland v West Brom: Sunderland will be without Titus Bramble who has been suspended following rape and drug allegations. Sebastian Larsson is out with a broken toe and Connor Wickham is doubtful. Gabriel Thomas available again for West Brom but is unlikely to start while Zoltan Gera and Marc-Antoine Fortune are still out of action. Expected a boring match between two dull teams.

Prediction: Sunderland 0-0 West Brom

Wolves v Newcastle: Wolves will be without Richard Stearman so Matt Doherty could get his first Premier League start. Steven Fletcher is fully fit so could also make a start. Newcastle are still without Shola Ameobi, Alan Smith and Mike Williamson. This game could be close but Newcastle could just nick it.

Prediction: Wolves 1-2 Newcastle

Bolton v Chelsea: Fulham’s Stuart Holden could be out for 6 months following knee surgery while David Wheater and Ivan Klasnic are suspended. Gael Kakuta cannot play against his parent club while Jussi Jaaskelainen is a doubt. Fernando Torres is suspended for Chelsea so Daniel Sturridge could make his return. Chelsea will have too much for Bolton and will won comfortably.

Prediction: Bolton 0-2 Chelsea

Fulham v QPR: Bobby Zamora and Moussa Dembele could make their return for Fulham while Aaron Hughes and Matthew Briggs face late fitness tests. Armand Traore is suspended for QPR so Matt Connolly is expected to start. Danny Gabbidon is still injured for QPR. This should be a close game so a draw is a likely outcome.

Prediction: Fulham 1-1 QPR

Swansea v Stoke: Alan Tate, Steven Caulker, Kemy Agustien and Ferrie Bodde are all out for Swansea but Leon Britton hopes to be fit. Stoke could have Matthew Etherington back but Salif Diao and Kenwyne Jones are doubtful. Swansea do play good football but expect Stoke to have a bit too much with the long throw causing Swansea problems.

Prediction: Swansea 1-3 Stoke

Tottenham v Arsenal: Tottenham are once again without William Gallas, Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone but Steven Pienaar has recovered from his groin injury. Gervinho, Laurent Koscielny and Yossi Benayoun are to have late fitness tests while Johan Djourou is definitely out. Theo Walcott could make his return. Expect it to be a fiery derby and a draw the likely outcome.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-2 Arsenal
