Wei Zhao has earned success in front of the camera and also more recently behind the camera so it with great anticipation that fans await her return to the small screen as the lead actor in the television series "Tiger Mom". In the role she plays a working-mother character which revolves around the controversial book "Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother".
In the book the mother is a very strong personality who has very high expectations for her young daughter and it brought forth much debate over the child rearing approaches used by Western and Chinese parents.
Some fans might be wondering about the child-rearing philosophy of Wei Zhao, a woman who has achieved great fame and success as an entertainer. The attractive actress/director revealed that while she plays a "Tiger Mom" in the show she prefers a "pressure-free childhood to a disciplined one" for her daughter. There is no release date for the series in which she acts alongside actor Tong Dawei and actress Dong Jie.
Wei Zhao's return to the small screen is very intriguing to many of her fans and entertainment critics because she has experienced so much success from behind the camera for major film projects and as an actress on the big screen. Her directorial debt "So Young" won the Best Directorial Debut at the Golden Rooster Awards and was one of the highest ever Chinese grossing films. and yet she makes her return to acting on the small screen when she could have chosen any project.
