There has been a lot of talk about the possibility of there being an Independence Day sequel ever since the original Independence Day movie was released way back in 1996. However, sixteen years on and we still have no Independence Day sequel but that has not stopped talk of it happening.
The latest rumour is that there is in fact going to be two Independence Day sequels and there has even been titles for the two sequels released. The rumour is that the Independence Day sequels are supposedly going to be called ID Forever Part One and ID Forever Part Two. Very Original.

With that said, it would be expected that the two Independence Day sequels would be shot back to back and then released a year apart. Independence Day director Roland Emmerich has claimed that he and writer/producer Dean Devlin have the ideas in place for the sequels. DenOfGeek have some interesting theories on the potential plot problems.
Roland also admitted that they would be filming the Independence Day sequels in 2D before the converting them into 3D. So when can we expect to see the first of the two Independence Day sequels? Your guess is as good as ours but we will go for 2016.
