There have been a number of reports over the past few days about Man of Steel director Zack Snyder being involved in a Star Wars spin-off. It was claimed that Zack would be directing a project based on the Jedi Knights, that would be separate from the new Star Wars trilogy.
First, Vulture reported that Zack Snyder was involved in the Star Wars project, that would be, “an as-yet-untitled Jedi epic loosely based on Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai, with the ronin and katana being replaced by the Force-wielding knights and their iconic lightsabers.”
However, The Hollywood Reporter say a spokesperson for Zack Snyder has come out and denied to reports, saying, “While he is super flattered because he is a huge fan, Zack is not involved in any way with the new Star Wars. He is currently in post on his two films, Man of Steel and 300: Battle of Artemisia.”
This led to Vulture updating their story, insisting that they have it on good authority that Zack Snyder is involved with a Star Wars spinoff project. Then, Variety's Jeff Sneider joined the debate, by taking to Twitter to say, “No clue how REAL the Zack Snyder - Star Wars offshoot rumors are but I GUARANTEE he met with Kathy Kennedy to pitch her that Seven Jedi idea.”
So, those are the reports about the Zack Snyder Star Wars spin-off and we will let you make up your own minds about whether they are true or not.
