Usher, the mega popstar, along with Shakira joined The Voice this past February to replace Cee-Lo and Christina Aguilera. Now, that they are back. What is Usher doing for his off season?
After selling 50 million records and winning 8 Grammys, Usher is getting serious about his acting career. He has starred such films as In The Mix and Scary MoVie, but now he has the role of his career as boxer Sugar Ray Leonard in Hands of Stone. Shooting for the film beings this month, and Usher has been preparing for the role since May. There is no word yet if he has reached his goal of loosing 25 pounds.
Usher is also spending his The Voice hiatus executive producing a documentary on Education. The documentary is titled, Unstoppable, and the film deals with the dropout epidemic in the U.S. education system. A social media campaign has been launched as an outlet for students to voice their issues with school. Unstoppable is written and directed by Jason Pollock and is set for a 2014 release.
In 2014, Usher will return to his chair on The Voice. Will he be the coach that stops 3 time champion, Blake Shelton's reign or will Black Shelton be defeated this season on the Voice? The Voice comes on NBC Monday and Tuesdays at 8/7C.
