Actress Mallika Sherawat is one of the bigger stars to be involved in the movie Dirty Politics, but it looks like the movie has hit a rather large bump in the road. The movies subject matter has been called into question and it shooting on the film has had to be shut down because of it.
The problem stems from the fact that Dirty Politics is supposedly loosely based on the Bhanwri Devi rape case and portrays the congress in a rather negative light. This has led to a local congressman to file a complaint against the movie and its subject matter, leading to the movie to change its shooting location.
City Congress spoke person Narendra Saluja said of the situation, "Fear of court cracking the whip led to the foreclosure of the films shoot in the city." However, Mallika Sherawat, along with Ashutosh Rana and veteran actor Om Puri, are said to have already filmed their parts.
Dirty Politics is said to centre around the murder of Rajasthan nurse Bhanwari Devi and the involvement of state politicians, which Saluja says reflects badly on Congress during the upcoming polls.
Meanwhile, Sherawat said of her role, "I play a Rajasthani street dancer whose murder triggers off a high-level investigation."
