There has been a lot of talk, for many years about the possibility of there being a World of Warcraft movie made and time and again there are rumours of progress being made. Add to that the Call of Duty games, which are made by the same company Activision Blizzard and have made a lot of money over the years.
With the amount of video games that have been made into movies over the years, you would expect there to be talk of a Call of Duty movie being made. However, there are no plans afoot to develop Call of Duty for the big screen and it seems that there never will be.
Despite the persistent rumours about a World of Warcraft movie, it seems that this will also never happen. The reason that we will not get to see these two popular games adapted into a big screen blockbuster is because of Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick.
According to The New York Times, Bobby Kotick does not want to develop any of the Activision Blizzard games into movies, as he feels that it will only disappoint the fans of the games. While many of us would love to see a World of Warcraft film or a Call of Duty movie, Bobby makes a valid point, as video games rarely make for successful movies.
