When it was announced that Zack Snyder and co. would be adding Batman to the roster for the Man of Steel sequel, which has since been confirmed as Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there was a lot of talk about who would play the new Batman. When it was finally revealed that Ben Affleck was cast as Batman, there were a lot of disappointed people, with a lot of criticism thrown his way.
However, Ben Affleck has taken the criticism on the chin, stating that he will just have to prove the critics wrong, by giving the best possible performance that he can. Ben has bulked up for the role of Batman and we will get to judge just how good a Batman he actually is, when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on April 29, 2016 in the UK and May 6, 2016 in the US.
Another thing that we do know, is that we will then get to see Ben Affleck reprising his role as Bruce Wayne, aka Batman, in the planned Justice League movie, which Zack Snyder will work on following Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. But when will we get to see Ben Affleck starring in a new Batman standalone movie?
Well there have been plenty of rumours going around about the DC schedule and which characters we will see when. It is claimed that we will see Henry Cavill in Man of Steel 2 in 2018, while there is also a Wonder Woman film to think about. It has been suggested that the Ben Affleck Batman movie will aim for a 2019 release date, which is far too long a wait for our liking.
Are you looking forward to seeing Ben Affleck as Batman?
