As with all movies that are based on books, there has to be a number of things cut out. This always causes uproar among fans of the books but there is not really a lot that the filmmakers can do. And it appears that The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is no different.

Many fans of the Suzanne Collins books will be looking forward to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and casting their eyes over the new characters in the movie. However, there are at least three characters that fans will not get to see in the film and they are fairly important ones at that.
The first two characters that will be missing from The Hunger Games: Catching Fire are Bonnie and Twill, who manage to run away from District 8 and come across Katniss Everdeen in the woods. They are the ones that inform Katniss of the rebellion she has started and the existence of a District 13.

Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson
The other character who will not be appearing in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is Darius, the youngest District 12 peacekeeper, who comes to Gale’s aid during his whipping. However, producer Nina Jacobson has defended the decision to leave these characters out.
She explained, “It’s as agonizing for us to lose things from the book as it is for a fan. I want every single thing in there. But you know what? If you have to give up something in order to give more time to Katniss and Gale or to Effie as she starts to feel a conscience, you make the sacrifices in order to serve the characters and themes that are more essential.”
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to be released on November 22 in both the US and the UK.
