The Avengers was without doubt a huge success and Marvel are continuing to push out movies thick and fast. The next one to hit the big screen will be Iron Man 3 and you would be forgiven for expecting to see some of the characters from The Avengers in the movie.

However, it appears that none of The Avengers will be in Iron Man 3 and that includes the lesser characters and even Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson). Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has been talking about Iron Man 3 and confirmed that there would be no appearance from The Avengers.
Feige told Empire, “Iron Man 3 doesn’t feature any of the other Avengers, or Nick Fury showing up, or any of those world-blending conceits that the Phase One films had. You have to keep in mind that Iron Man 3 had been in the works for almost a year, year and a half before The Avengers was released.”

He added, “We’re sticking to the vision for these films, and showing once again that these characters are just as interesting alone as they are together.” Many people were expecting another appearance from Nick Fury or at least Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) but it seems that it is not to be.
Iron Man 3 is set to be released on May 3, 2013.
