When it comes to tennis these days, there is one woman who is really dominating the sport and has done so for many years now, while the men's game also has one particular stand out player. Novak Djokovic is by far the dominant force in men's tennis, while Serena Williams is a legend of the women's game, after that, there are a number of players who are pretty much even in the sport.
It is interesting then, that we are not going to see Serena Williams appearing at the WTA Finals in Singapore, after the superstar admitted that she will not compete for the rest of the season. That means that all eyes will now turn to the world number two, Simona Halep, who many people are tipping to take the title in Singapore, although it will not be as straight forward as many seem to think.
Simona Halep will face stiff competition from the likes of Maria Sharapova, although the Russian beauty has struggled with some crippling injuries over the course of the year. Meanwhile, Petra Kvitova also has the talent to win the tournament, although she has been inconsistent so far this season. Then there is Agnieszka Radwanska, who is on the comeback trailer of late, with some very impressive results.
With that said, Simona Halep is going to be the woman to beat and, while we are hoping for a competitive and exciting tournament, we cannot see anyone beating the world number two.
The WTA Finals in Singapore will take place from October 26 until November 1. Who do you think will win?
