Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will appear on the big screens of Bollywood in 2015 in the film "Jazbaa", a movie which is referred to by many in the media as her comeback film because she has not made a film since 2010.
For some entertainment observers the film represents a great opportunity for the actress to show the full range of her acting ability and be looked at as an actress who is willing to 'push the envelope' and play a dark, complex, edgy character who has flaws.
This role is of huge importance to her in the eyes of some entertainment observers because while she is still a much respected celebrity she is not an actress deemed a target for Hollywood/Bollywood collaborations and even if she is or is not interested in such an opportunity the thought of her not being considered a potential actress for these projects by some film insiders because of questions about her being 'safe' and trapped in a 'image prison' likley does not sit well with the actress.
Some people may think such opinions do not matter to the actress but some of the rumours coming out of the "Jazbaa" film camp suggest otherwise as rumours have her wanting the movie to be "dark and edgy" and that is information which has some entertainment insiders thinking that she is interested in breaking free of the 'image prison' that some Indian model/actresses find themselves placed in when considering roles (Fashion & Style - April 10).
She is an actress who because of her image as a past Miss World and someone who is Bollywood entertainment royalty with many endorsements to her name is viewed as someone who can only play 'safe' and 'conservative' characters by some filmmakers both in and outside of Bollywood.
The movie release of "Jazbaa" will be very interesting for some entertainment observers because it could propel her back into conversations as one of the top actresses in Bollywood and one who should at least be considered as a potential feature actress for Hollywood/Bollywood collaborations because of her acting talent if she can show she be 'dark and edgy in a character.
On the other hand, the film could show her as an actress who is not ready to break out of the 'image prison' that often prevents some of the best Indian actors such as herself from showing their complete acting range and reaching their full acting potential.
There are many Indian film actresses whose careers will change significantly as a result of the roles they takein 2015 but the actress who potentially has the most to gain in terms of her image and reputations as an actress both within and outside of Bollywood in 2015 might be the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
