While there is currently an ongoing debate about sexism in Hollywood, it is fair to say that there is abundance of talented actresses landing some very impressive roles over the course of the past few years. One such actress, who has played some great roles in her career, is the beautiful and talented star Amy Adams, who has received a lot of recognition for her talents.
Amy Adams is one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood at the moment, so it is no surprise that the star gets offered some of the best female roles that are available in Hollywood. Amy has put in some sensational performances in her career, and has gone on to land five Academy Awards nominations over the past few years, failing to land any of them.
The first Oscar nomination that Amy Adams received was in 2006 for her role in the movie Junebug, but the award went to Rachel Weisz for The Constant Gardener. Following that, Amy was again nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Doubt in 2009, this time the winner was Penelope Cruz for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. Next, Amy Adams got her third supporting nod for The Fighter in 2011, and this time missed out to her The Fighter co-star Melissa Leo.
The fourth Academy Award nomination that Amy Adams received was again for her supporting role and this time in 2013 for movie The Master, but unfortunately Amy missed out to Anne Hathaway for Les Miserables. Finally Amy Adams got a Best Leading Actress nod for American Hustle earlier this year but Cate Blanchett took the Oscar for her performance in Blue Jasmine.
Amy Adams is such a talented actress that we have no doubt that she will get more Oscar nominations in the future and hopefully she can one day bag that Oscar that her talent truly deserves.
