There has been a rather mixed reaction the to upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, with fans disappointed that Michael Bay is on board to produce and that Megan Fox is playing April O'Neill. However, fans are more than happy at the inclusion of Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick and the actor has spoken about his involvement in the movie.
During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Arnett explained, "It's funny, it's one of those things... it fell between the cracks for me, a little bit, because I was just a little old. I started meeting with these guys and then... I actually watched the cartoon, the animated show on Nickelodeon with my sons, and I was like, 'This is a great story and there's something here', and so I got involved."
He also admitted that working with Michael Bay had a big influence on his decision, adding, "Of course, Michael Bay's producing and it just seemed like such a great thing to be a part of, and so I signed on very excited, and I had a fantastic experience."
As well as starring Will Arnett, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles also stars Megan Fox, Alan Ritchson, William Fichtner, Whoopi Goldberg, Noel Fisher, Abby Elliott, Jeremy Howard, Danny Woodburn, Minae Noji and Pete Ploszek. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is directed by Jonathan Liebesman and opens on May 16, 2014 in the UK and August 8, 2014 in the US.
