It was a bit of a shock to most Taylor Swift fans when it was announced last week that she had broken up with her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy. However, Page Six [via Winnipeg Free Press] is reporting that despite this, the Kennedy family is going ahead with their plans to honor Swift at a gala in December.

The gala will reportedly be paying tribute to Swift at the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights Ripple of Hope Awards dinner. It is said to be held at the Marriott Marquis in New York City on December 3rd, and will have the Kennedy family in attendance. Although the relationship troubles between Kennedy and Swift were reportedly due to schoolwork and clashing of schedules, they have a possibility of reuniting at this event. However, it’s not clear whether it will just be two exes being polite or any sparks will rekindle.
The New York Post’s Page Six also reported that their source stated, “Conor has gone back to school, and the deans at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts are not happy about him jetting around with Taylor. He was due to attend an awards ceremony with her at the end of the summer, but the school chiefs put the kibosh on it. He can't just leave school to be with her at every point."
