When it comes to the sports industry, it is fair to say that the women have yet to make that step up to compete with men, in pretty much any sport going. We have yet to see a woman make the breakthrough into the mens game in pretty much every sport going, although there are certain sports where some women are really trying to force themselves into the men's world.
In Formula One, there have been a few women being brought into the fold as test drivers but we are still waiting to see a female racing driver be given a real chance to prove what she has against the best the men have to offer. With that said, there have been a few rumours that we could well get to see a woman racing in Formula One next year, thanks to the new Haas team.
The beautiful and talented racing driver Danica Patrick currently races for the Stewart-Haas team in NASCAR and some people have suggested that owner Gene Haas is eager to make a huge statement in his debut season, by giving Danica one of his driver seats for the 2016 season. Gene insists that his Haas driver line-up will be revealed in the very near future and it will be interesting to see if Patrick does get the nod.
While it would definitely make huge headlines around the world and would have a big impact on Formula One, we have to believe that Gene Haas would want his team to be as competitive as possible and, no disrespect to Danica Patrick, but we cannot see her being able to compete with some of the male drivers who already have Formula One experience.
Would you like to see Danica Patrick racing in Formula One with the new Haas team?
