There has been so much talk for so long about a possible Blade Runner sequel being made, ever since the movie hit the big screen way back in 1982. The more time that passed, the more it looked unlikely, especially since Harrison Ford is not getting any younger.
Now it has been confirmed that Ridley Scott has got Green Lantern writer Michael Green on board to pen Blade Runner 2, which makes it seem that the sequel may well happen after all. So, with Ridley Scott pushing ahead with Blade Runner 2, will we get to see Harrison Ford reprising his role as Rick Deckard?
Well Ridley Scott previously said, "I don't know yet. Is he too old? Well, he was a Nexus-6 so we don't know how long he can live [laughs]. And that's all I'm going to say at this stage." While it has now been claimed that Scott is "courting Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Rick Deckard."
Meanwhile, Harrison Ford is reprising his role as Han Solo for Star Wars: Episode VII, so why not Blade Runner 2. Harrison recently admitted, "It might be nice, depending on the circumstances, to revisit any one of those characters. What interests me now is the opportunity to work at all and to work in ambitious projects ... It doesn't matter if it's one of those. If it's one of those, great. If it's not, that's fine too."
With that said, we may still have to wait for some time before we get any real confirmation on Harrison Ford's involvement in Blade Runner 2.
