Snooker is one of those sports that you either love or you hate, with many people loving the tactical play and the impressive break building that takes place on the green baize, while there are others who see it as slow and boring and lucky to even be considered a sport. However, there have been some big names in the world of sport to come from snooker and there are still plenty of talented players in the game.
With snooker legend Ronnie O'Sullivan looking a shadow of the great player he once was, people are looking for who could take over the sport, with Mark Selby currently dominating the world rankings. Yet there is one player who has been around for quite a while now, who has shown a great deal of potential for many years now, yet has never quite managed to take his game to the next level.
Judd Trump has to be one of the most exciting players in snooker today and, while he has managed to win a number of tournaments in his career, he has not quite managed to get his hands on the big one. Back in 2011, Judd did manage to get to the final of the World Championship, where he lost 18-15 to John Higgins, which led people to believe that Trump would be back in many more finals.
Unfortunately though, we have not seen Judd Trump in a Snooker World Championships final again and it keeps looking more and more unlikely that he is ever going to manage to win the biggest tournament in the sport. There are some great players around these days, with many more coming through all the time, making it harder and harder to win a world title.
The World Snooker Championship 2017 will start on April 15. Could this be Judd Trump's year?
